NAU Ranks #1 in Best Online Colleges for 2015
Northern Arizona University was featured as #1 among 80+ institutions surveyed by Best College Reviews for 2015. Best College Reviews used the following metrics to determine their ranking:
- Affordability: the average cost of attendance for one semester taking 15 credit hours
- Flexibility: the number of bachelor’s degree-granting programs that may be obtained fully online, coupled with the flexibility with which students may obtain a degree
- Academic Rigor and Support: the strength and reputation of the online program’s parent institution as well as the range of support services for online college students.

NAU BBA and the Department of Business and Administration’s March 2015 Student of the Month: Daisy Cortes
Daisy Cortes – March 2015 Student of the Month
Dr. Rosie Cordova nominated Daisy Cortes for Student of the Month. Dr. Cordova stated: “She is a very enthusiastic student. She actively participates in class and shows her leadership by asking questions of concern to the entire class.”
Ms. Cortes is a full-time student, studying for a Bachelor of Business Administration with a minor in Spanish. Daisy attends NAU Extended Campus’ Arizona Western College (AWC) campus in Yuma, Arizona, and expects to graduate in May 2016.
In addition to being a full-time student, Ms. Cortes also works two jobs: a full-time assistant manager at Little Caesars, and a part-time tutor at the AWC KEYS program. Working as an assistant manager at Little Caesars allows Daisy to apply the information she learns at NAU in her job, which reinforces her understanding of the classroom content. As a tutor in the KEYS program, Ms. Cortes assists and motivates students toward the successful completion of their postsecondary degree.
Ms. Cortes is helping to establish The Initial Club at the NAU Yuma campus. This club will help students meet and network with business people in the Yuma area to expand the students’ knowledge of business and, hopefully, help them to obtain a job once their degree program is complete. Ms. Cortes was a member of Phi Beta Kappa honor society prior to joining NAU.
